I sent a friend some photos from my safari with BushBaby Safaris and his comment was "Betty - you won't have to wait to go to heaven - you are already there!" and that was exactly how I felt through the whole safari.

I booked a 15 day safari in South Africa, taking in the Greater Kruger National Park, several private parks and a side trip to Swaziland, ending on the coast at St Lucia and I can only say that it was perfect in every way. My guide Pierre Duval was brilliant, incredibly knowledgeable and specialising in birding, which suited me fine, as I was keen to get to know as many birds as possible, this being my first trip to South Africa. This was a private safari, just me and Pierre in his very comfortable car.

The Game Parks and Lodges chosen were perfect, fantastic game viewing, loads of birding opportunities and Pierre's eagle eyes missed nothing. The Greater Kruger National Park was quiet, with few people, but lots of wildlife. The private game parks were equally good, as was a delightful overnight trip to Swaziland. Our final stop in St Lucia was special (hippos grazing on the town lawns at night) and a lovely horse ride among the wildebeest and zebras in the St Lucia Game Park.

A brilliantly organised trip thanks to Karen for booking all the overnight stops and Pierre - the best wildlife guide in South Africa. Birds? I saw 270 species and photographed many of them. Thanks a million Pierre for an amazing safari and so many laughs!
